For millions of adults, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a daily struggle, depriving sufferers of the deep, restful sleep they so desperately need. Right now, doctors throughout the U.S. are accepting participants for the THN Clinical Study. The study is for THN Sleep Therapy – an investigational device that works within your body and is designed to reduce or eliminate sleep apnea episodes.

About Sleep Apnea
Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common and serious sleep disorder in which breathing is repeatedly interrupted during sleep. OSA occurs when the tongue falls backwards into the throat during sleep, thereby blocking the airway as you breathe in. This can cause breathing to be paused from several seconds to over a minute.
If not treated properly, OSA can affect both your heart and brain, leading to high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, diabetes, and stroke.
THN Sleep Therapy does not involve any masks or external tubes, but rather is an implanted device designed to keep the airway open during sleep.
While you sleep, the THN System delivers mild electrical signals to the hypoglossal nerve, which controls the key muscles of the tongue. This nerve stimulation increases muscle tone to the tongue, and keeps the tongue out of the airway. This makes it easier for air to flow through the airway so that you can sleep with fewer interruptions.
The THN System is implanted under the skin through a short surgical procedure (about 1hr), and is activated through a handheld remote control. Typically, you would turn on the THN Sleep Therapy System at bedtime, and turn it off when you wake up in the morning.
The THN Clinical Study
Right now, doctors throughout the U.S. are accepting participants for the THN Clinical Study. The study is evaluating THN Sleep Therapy –an investigational device that works within your body and is designed to reduce or eliminate sleep apnea episodes. Currently, THN SleepTherapy is only available through the THN Clinical Study.
